This almost blinding light at
certain times of the year spills over a volumetry of clear and relatively
simple geometric elements, highlighting their external reflection and provoking
the singularization of the incisions which serve to access the inside.
Lastly, as well as using the
theoretical approach of the prism of light and its project development as
access of lighting, it served as the element to explicit and enlarge the
small façade in its dialogue with the locus. To make patent the presence
of a wider inner world, from the uniqueness of a single gesture through
the volume of the vantage point, through which the building opens and becomes
unique to the outside.
BUILDING OF FLATS IN MANZANARES.

The project is the consequence
of the interstitial space which arose after the demolition of a previous building
between party walls, a construction presenting grave problems of filtration
through caves and pipe works in poor condition, aspects which denoted a wounding
and aggressive context, together with the irregularity of the void left by
the construction, with a shape in the shape of a funnel in its development
from the façade and where it takes place between party walls which
affect and overturn towards the inside, on a large part of the surface, in
view of the impossibility of recesses or openings.
The main direction of the east/west
plot, sunrise and sunset, permitted establishing a “prism of light”
which would singularize and other in a single gesture all of the pieces of
penetration, both accesses and natural lighting of the buinding, generating
itself as the element defining the proposal. The rest of the elements were
gradually articulated as servers of this piece, keeping themselves sensitive
to the perimeter.
